Temporary residence permits

Permanent and long-term EU residence permits

  • The consent of the President of the Republic of Poland to the renunciation of Polish citizenship - for people who have Polish citizenship and want to renounce it.

A or B type permit for a foreigner to work in the territory of Poland

Are you an entrepreneur, you have a company in Poland and you want to employ a foreigner from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland? You must first obtain a permit to perform type A or B work. 

An employer who wants to employ a foreigner always applies for a type A or B work permit. 

For whom is the type A permit

A type A permit is issued to a foreigner working in the territory of Poland, on the basis of an agreement with an entity whose seat, place of residence or branch, plant or other form of organized activity is located in Poland.

For whom is the type B permit

The type B permit applies to a foreigner who:

  • serves on the management board of a legal person entered in the register of entrepreneurs;

  • serves on the management board of a legal person that is a capital company in organization;

  • conducts the affairs of a limited partnership or a limited joint-stock partnership as a general partner or proxy - if he performed this function for more than 6 months during the next 12 months.

Type C work permit

  • Do you employ an employee and want to post him or her to Poland to your branch, plant or related entity for more than 30 days in a calendar year? First you need to obtain a type C work permit for him.

Type D work permit

Type E work permit

  • Are you hiring an employee and want to post him or her to Poland to work in another company for more than 30 days within 6 consecutive months? First you need to obtain a work permit type E for him. 

Declarations on entrusting work to a foreigner

  • Only citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine may work on the basis of the declaration on entrusting work to a foreigner. This is a simplified procedure. Applies to non-seasonal work. The conditions for performing work under the simplified procedure are:

  • entering a declaration on entrusting work to a foreigner to the register of declarations by the poviat labor office,

  • possession by the foreigner of a document confirming the residence title in the Republic of Poland, which entitles him to work in Poland.
